ZETTLER launches AZEV400 High-Power Relay with 10 kA Short-Circuit Endurance for EV-Charging Applications

ZETTLER introduces the AZEV400, a powerful new 4-pole or 2-pole relay solution designed for AC EV-chargers in compliance with IEC 61851. The relay is characterized with high switching capacity, reinforced isolation, and certified short-circuit endurance of up to 10 kA making it ideal for demanding and safety-critical environments.

High Performance for Modern AC-Charging

The AZEV400 switches up to 50 A per contact at 480 VAC – or 80 A in parallel configuration – delivering reliable power control for Mode 2/3 EV chargers. Certified according to IEC 62955, IEC 61008-1, IEC 62752, and IEC 62052-11, the relay withstands short-circuit events up to 10 kA and inrush currents of 230 A, proven by TÜV testing.

Enhanced Safety through Mirror Contact and Wide Clearance

The AZEV400 includes an NC mirror contact (IEC 60947-4-1 / IEC 61810-3) for monitoring safety-relevant conditions. A ≥4.0 mm contact gap supports RCD applications per IEC 61008-1 (Type A). With surge withstand voltage up to 10 kV and dielectric strength of 5 kVRMS, it offers robust insulation and operator safety.

Flexible Configurations

Available in both 2-pole and 4-pole versions, with or without the mirror contact, the AZEV400 allows design flexibility for 1-phase and 3-phase systems.
